The application process opens November 1st - December 31st for online applicants and for US Mail the cut off date is a postmark of November 30th. The draw results are then posted in late March of the following year, for the season of September 1st - 20th.Moose Information
The Alaskan moose is the largest of the deer family. An adult male can be nearly 7 foot tall at the shoulder and tip the scales at 1600 pounds or more.
That's about 600-700 pounds of meat after you've dressed it out.
Alaska Moose Hunting Pictures
We've been working hard snapping pictures lately, trying to give you a better idea of what you'll see on your Alaska Moose Hunt (or caribou, Dall sheep, or bear for that matter). Take a look and see some of the results we've gotten. You can click on any picture to view the group as a slide show.
By the way, as you go through our site, just about every picture can also be blown up into a larger version. So if you're looking at a picture of the moose on our Alaska Moose Hunt page, you just have to click it to view it large enough to actually see the moose.
